EXCITER - Not resale in E.U.
Hi all,
made a strange catch on ebay some weeks ago.
"NOT RESALE IN E.U." is printed on back PS and CD label.
Someone know this Edition and for what country it was made.
Maybe for the asian market

Yes, strange release, an EU edition not to be resale in EU?
It is the same edition as this one:

But yes without the difference you listed. Sorry but I have no idea what is the purpose of your edition.

Does the cover carries a colored Logo of a strange record company at the frontside?
Then i held this one in my hands some time ago.
Guess it´s a bootleg and did not buy.

the seller sent me matrix of this cd and i did not buy because for my mind it was bootleg.
as i remember he was listing this as promo

I do have a similar release from The Cranberries. It is their 1999 album Bury The Hatchet. And it has the same printing both on label and cover.
I guess these were imported to selected European countries which were going to be members of the European Union, but the were not in the EU by the
time of the release. For example Hungary (among with Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) joined the EU in 2004, and maybe there were some special
regulations before these countries became full right members of the EU.

My scanner didn't work will make it on monday at work.
But the Matrix says: 7243 810243 24 0105263 A2917 05/12/2001
The rest of this release is exacty same as the EU edition(Booklet and inner Picture of BackBS)
This is for sure no Bootleg(imo) because this release looks very authentic

this is not a reason to be not a bootleg (imo also).
for instance Finnish UMS bootlegs look also amazingly authentic. and many of these even have Labels logo also
this is also very weird as matrix has no ifpi codes
edit: but i agree that it also can be an edition for non EU countries in Europe. probably Poland pressing then.

Ok Alexey,
the chance for a bootleg is given, but one question I have:
If there is a bootleg producer who could make such high quality bootlegs which looks so authentic, why does he print "NOT RESALE IN E.U." instead of
"MADE IN E.U." as it is on the Originals that raises questions only in
the selling rate of the bootleg, isn't ?
...and the matrix is not so weird, because it reflects the Cat Number and a credible print date of the CD.
Here is a scan of the matrix, I don't know the matrix of the normal EU edition. Maybe someone can compare

All the EU releases at that time have "EMI UDEN" matrices. This one looks a bit odd, I must say.

It's a Thailand release. Got it with pricesrickers from thai shop "cd warehouse". Bought it myself in Thailand in 2003 or 2004 (can't remember which
year. Visited both years)
